Justice League x RWBY: Heroes and Huntsmen is a two part direct to video movie series crossing over the worlds of the Justice League and RWBY. Unlike the previous crossovers, this iteration involves one team going into the other's world in a single story. When foes of both teams work together to defeat them, the Justice League and Team RWBY have to cross over.
The series was produced by Rooster Teeth Productions, responsible for RWBY, and released onto Direct-to-Video (DTV) formats by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The latter frequently released DTV movies based on DC characters. Both parts were released throughout the year 2023. Before and since the movies' release, several announcements involving both properties marked an "end" to their respective productions. For RWBY, it was announced in 2024 that Rooster Teeth Productions will be shutting down. This movies marks the last animated appearance of RWBY. As for DC, when DC's film division was restructured as DC Studios, it was announced that future DC productions, including animation, will be overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Since the announcement, future DC DTV movies have labeled as DC Elseworlds to set them apart from animated projects that will be taking place in DC's cinematic universe.
Part 1[edit | edit source]
The Justice League are stranded in the world of Remnant. Their only memory before coming to this world is fighting a tech-based villain on their world. They are now teenagers, but their powers are nerfed due to being adapted to their new surroundings. Teams RWBY and JNPR find them on their own, but while introducing their world to the interlopers they notice the world around them has changed. Not only have their outfits regressed, they find out some people and places are still around.
They question what is going on, but that would have to wait as Grimm have been spotted. The Justice League don't want to stand by and decide to help, so the group splits up: Juane and Jessica stay behind to find her power ring, Yang, Blake, and Diana leave to try to find Bruce, and the rest of the group fight the Grimm.
While the rest of the team fight Grimm, Juane and Jessica find out the world is a simulation. They soon join the fight and tell everyone the news. While the news seems obvious, what's not obvious is the identity of the person responsible for the simulation. Bruce joins the group and finds out the perpetrator who trapped them inside the simulation is inside of Barry all along. He finds out Killg%re is controlling the simulation and is using Barry's body and Dust to power it. The villain reveals itself and promptly attacks the group.

Killg%re considers himself to be a genius, and reveals that while the simulation is someone else's creation, it is smart enough to make a power source to maintain it. However, the group finds his plan shortsighted as the A.I. is trapped inside with them. They exorcise Kilg%re and separate him from Barry, but it doesn't stop the A.I. from creating more Grimm.
The odds are against them, but Ruby comes up with a plan to expel Killg%re from the simulation. She gets Jessica close enough to use her power to banish Killg%re. The A.I. and Grimm are gone from the simulation, so the group, with the help of Bruce and Victor, go back to their respective worlds. They say their goodbyes and enter their respective portals...
Teams RWBY and JNPR wake up from what was supposed to be a virtual reality training mission. Since the simulation was built on top of a training mission, they deduce Killg%re's mysterious partner must be from their world.
Part 2[edit | edit source]
The Justice League wake up from the Hall of Justice's infirmary. Black Canary tells them she and Green Arrow took them away after they fought Killg%re and went unconscious. She tells the group they are still fighting mysterious monsters across the world, but everyone else recognizes them as Grimm. They try to stop the creatures on their own, but not only do they adapt to their powers, they are led by non other than Kilg%re. After Batman gets poisoned, his group retreats. Our heroes realize they are out of their league. They need Team RWBY.
Cyborg and Green Lantern locate Team RWBY's universe and bring them over to their world. Their reunion is short-lived as new types of Grimm has been spotted different cities. Everyone splits up to fight the new Grimm. At the docks, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Blake, and Weiss find a new, aquatic Grimm. During the fight, Cyborg realizes the sea creature is being controlled remotely, so he tries to interface with it. Unfortunately, the sea serpent's code tries to corrupt him. It was a futile effort as Cyborg's programming kills the creature. Weiss even find the stinger that poisoned Batman.
Team RWBY recognizes the stinger's design and deduces Kilg%re is working with their old foe Dr. Arthur Watts, who digitized his consciousness before his demise. Their guess is correct when Kilg%re enters the Hall of Justice's computer and tells them about Dr. Watts' plan to reshape the world. Kilg%re plans to double-cross Dr. Watts with their help. Team RWBY and the Justice League agree to help. knowing they are walking into a trap, Cyborg comes up with a plan to trap the villains.The following day, everyone is introduced to Dr. Watts' rebuilt body. But before Dr. Watts and Kilg%re can attack, they get distracted and led to a holo-trap. Upon noticing Team RWBY's powers are back to normal, Kilg%re turns their plan against them by taking control of the holo-trap and changing the battlefield to locations based on Remnant and Earth. Now that everyone is in a digital sandbox, Kilgore hops between our hero's bodies to level the playing field.
During the fight, Cyborgs ties to interface with the Grimm one more time. It briefly takes control of Cyborg, but he pulls through and figures out a way to regain control of his holo-trap.
The fight rages on, this time on a recreation of Atlas. Team RWBY catch Dr. Watts trying to escape and try to slow him down. The mad doctor contemplates how unreliable Kilgore is, revealing how it was his idea to trap Kilgore in the simulation. The A.I. overhears this and decides to possess the doctor instead. The two argue, but Cyborg is finished with his program and traps Dr. Watts and Kilgore inside the holo-trap.

With the two of them gone from Earth, the Grimm were easily wiped out. The two teams celebrate and depart on their own adventures.
