LOS ANGELES –The No. 11 ranked USC women's tennis team wraps up the regular season this weekend as the Trojans host No. 9 UCLA on Friday, April 19 for a 1:30 p.m. PT dual at Marks Stadium.The winner of the match will clinch the Pac-12 regular season title.

USC is currently 17-6 and 8-1 Pac-12 play. Currently, the Trojans sit at the top of the conference's leader board tied for first with No. 10 UCLA and No. 9 Cal.

Prior to Friday's match USC will celebrate six seniors that are graduating this season – Eryn Cayetano, McKenna Koenig, Snow Han, Naomi Cheong, Gabrielle Lee and Isabelle Lee.

The match will also feature a pre-match DJ and a t-shirt giveaway to the first 200 fans.

RANKINGS:
The Women of Troy enter this week ranked No. 11 in the country (ITA Computerized Rankings April 17).

Currently, four Trojans appear in the national singles rankings, with sophom*oreEmma Charneyleading USCat No. 34 and juniorGrace Piperlocked in the No. 54 ranking. Trojan fifth-yearEryn Cayetanosits at No. 79 and redshirt seniorSnow Hanclaimed the No. 84 spot.

The Women of Troy also boasts two ranked duos in No. 18 Cayetano and Charney and No. 60 Parker FryandGrace Piper.

SO FAR THIS SEASON:
The Women of Troy opened the 2024 season with a pair of home dual matches, defeating LMU (7-0) and UC Irvine (4-0) during a season-opening doubleheader on January 18.

USC then hit the road for ITA Kickoff Weekend in Knoxville, Tenn., defeating No. 21 Miami (4-2) and No. 17 Tennessee (4-2).

Following a fantastic kickoff weekend, Trojan sophom*oreEmma Charneywas named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Charney went undefeated in singles and doubles in Knoxville and delivered both clinchers.

USC traveled south on Saturday, Feb. 3, for a dual against No. 20 San Diego. The No. 16 ranked Women of Troy won three singles matches against the Toreros but ultimately fell 4-3 to USD, dropping to 4-1 on the season.

At the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, USC went 1-2 in matches, falling to then No. 1 UNC before rebounding to beat No. 21 ranked Washington. The Trojans capped their time at ITA's with a 4-2 loss to No. 6 Pepperdine.

USC bounced back on the road to wrap up February play, downing Michigan State 6-1 before upsetting No. 2 Michigan 4-1. TrojanGrace Piperwas named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going 4-0 in singles and doubles (combined) and clinching the Trojans match against the No. 2 Wolverines.

Following a month on the road, USC returned home to face crosstown rival UCLA on Friday, March 1, falling to the Bruins 5-2.Naomi CheongandEryn Cayetanowere the only two Trojans to record singles wins against UCLA.

The Women of Troy rebounded on Monday, March 4 as the Trojans beat the Gauchos 6-1 at home. After winning the doubles point, USC carried momentum into singles play, winning five straight matches before redshirt seniorSnow Hanfell on center court to her top-75 ranked UCSB opponent.

USC opened Pac-12 play at home, going 2-0 as USC beat #25 Washington and Washington State. Against the Huskies, the Women of Troy dropped the doubles point, but would rebound to claim the match 4-1. On Saturday against the Cougars, USC won the doubles point and four matches to take the match 5-2.

The Trojans continued the hot streak beating Arizona (5-2) and Arizona State (4-0) last weekend to remain undefeated in Pac-12 play.

USC paused conference play the penultimate weekend of March, going 1-1 in nonconference play as the Trojans fell to No. 4 Pepperdine (4-0) on March 23, but rebounded the following day to down Hawaii 4-0.

The Women of Troy resumed Pac-12 play on March 30, with USC falling to No. 5 Stanford 4-1 before rebounding to down No. 11 Cal 4-3 the following day. Against Cal, the Trojans erased a 3-1 deficit to beat the Golden Bears and remain in the hunt for a Pac-12 regular season title.

USC then swept the mountain schools, downing Colorado (6-1) and Utah (5-2) to wrap up the final regular season Pac-12 road duals.

The following weekend the Women of Troy returned home to host Oregon, beating the Ducks 4-0 on April 12.

SCOUTING UCLA
No. 10 UCLA is 16-4 overall and 8-1 in conference play. Most recently, the Bruins downed Oregon 5-0 on Saturday, April 13.

Three Bruins appear in the ITA's singles rankings – No. 21 Kimmi Hance, No. 39 Fangran Tian and No. 72 Bianca Jolie Fernandez. Additionally, UCLA has two ranked duo's in No. 17 Fangran Tian/Elise Wagle and No. 76 Kimmi Hance and Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer.
