The most popular item for 100 days of school is always a great shirt to commemorate the special occasion. Whether it’s a funny shirt or a shirt with a cute idea on it, kids love counting out 100 things to then place all over a t-shirt. So many different styles and designs to choose from but the 100th Day of School rainbow shirt is a personal favorite!

DIY 100th Day of School Rainbow Shirt

Hey, 100 Days. I see you! This year I don’t have a kindergartener, so I’m missing out on the whole 100th day of school festivities. I’m sure they will still celebrate a little bit in the other grades, but not like in that first year of elementary school. It’s a big deal in the K grade. The first time ever to accomplish 100 days of school. It’s a milestone that will never happen again and also a way to get kids excited about attending school for the next 12+ years. Last year my girl and I created this DIY 100th day of school rainbow shirt. Super easy to make and I think turned out super cute. At least Ivy loved it and that’s the most important thing!

What is a 100th day celebration?

This is a special celebration that marks the 100th day of school. It’s a milestone that kids look forward to that usually falls the end of January and into February. Just depending on when kids start the school year! It’s also not uncommon for kids to make a 100 days of school shirt for the celebrations. There are also fun classroom activities as part of the special day. Such a fun thing to celebrate!

100th Day of School Rainbow Shirt

Time to celebrate 100 days over the rainbow with this cute 100 days of school t-shirt! Or you could alter the phrase to be a 100 days smarter rainbow shirt. My daughter is just obsessed with signing “Over the Rainbow” so we just had to go with that theme. Either way would be a unique design with this free 100 days of school svg file.

In preparation for the 100th day of school 2018, I asked our daughter what theme she wanted for her shirt. She instantly requested a rainbow shirt. Of course I could have done the typical gluing on of Skittles candies or buttons, but then I started to get nervous about drawing a freehanded rainbow. I’m not that artsy and my drawing is atrocious. So I decided that I’d put my vinyl cutter to work for me. Exact rainbow made really fast and then ironed right onto the shirt. While I was working on the outlines of the rainbow, I had the idea of dots in colors of the rainbow… So the idea of 100 fingerprints was born! This worked out perfectly for our daughter to create her very own colorful shirt.

Easy To Make 100th Day Shirt

What you’ll need:

• new or used shirt that you don’t mind having a permanent 100th day design on it
• iron-on transfer (or a fabric marker if you want to freehand the rainbow drawing)
• fabric paint in 4-6 different colors
• rainbow svg file *optional – The 100 days svg is definitely optional. As mentioned above you could achieve the same look with a permanent marker or some black paint to create the rainbow outline. I’m just not an artist so I go the easy way with heat transfer vinyl!

Easy DIY Ideas on Seeing Dandy!

What you’ll do to create this 100th day of school rainbow shirt:

• Cut out rainbow design on a vinyl cutter or freehand (This rainbow svg file HERE is perfect for creating this particular 100th day shirt. I created this one to be free for you so it’s slightly different than the original.)

Get the FREE SVG file HERE.

• Iron on the vinyl rainbow or use a heat press.

• Use fabric paint to put 100 fingerprints all over the rainbow.

*You can put the “100 days over the rainbow” phrase on the shirt or leave it blank. Or use any other phrase that you prefer!
